Butler

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing an array of personalized services to Hotel guests such as the wake up call, newspaper delivery, shoeshine, with a friendly and caring manner according to Kempinski’s policies and procedures and LQA standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain available to provide assistance for any matter related to making the stay of Hotel guests a pleasant and memorable one. 
  • Coordinate with Room Service the delivery of fruits for VIP guests and prepares the VIP fruit baskets.  Replenish them on a daily basis until the guest’s departure. 
  • For the VIP guests, welcome upon arrival outside their assigned room and offer assistance.
  • After check-in, introduce themselves to the guest, escort the guest to their room and explain room and hotel facilities and offer assistance for the remainder of their stay.   
  •  Coordinate luggage handling with Concierge sections for arriving and departing guest to ensure safe and timely delivery. 
  • At times, check in the arriving guest and check out the departing guests in a friendly and caring manner according to the procedures and Kempinski standards. 
  • Answer all guest requests and questions in a friendly and caring manner, whether by telephone or in person, provide/receive information and take appropriate actions or refer the matters to the relevant persons to handle. 
  • Offer personalized wake-up to the room with tea or coffee as per guest requests. 
  • Offer assistance to guests with shoe shining, packing and unpacking luggage, collecting and delivering laundry and dry cleaning.
  • Keep abreast of all hotel promotions, product knowledge, VIP arrivals, and upcoming events in order to be able to answer guest requests and questions.
  • Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business and of the hotel.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

The job of Butler is executed satisfactorily when:

  • LQA (Leading Quality Assurance) audit results are 85% and above.
  • CSS (Customer Satisfaction Survey) results are rated on an average with “5” and above.
  • Hotel and Outlets are promoted.
  • VIP guests are met upon arrival, assistance with packing/unpacking is offered and professionally executed.
  • All guest requests are executed highly professional and efficiently.

Prepare the mise en place and handle food preparation and assist with food presentation as part of the kitchen brigade.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare kitchen equipment for use.
  • Assemble and prepare ingredients for menu items.
  • Prepare simple food items.
  • Prepare food for service.
  • Assist with checking, receiving, and storing of goods.
  • Maintain storage areas.
  • Clean kitchen and equipment.
  • Handle waste and linen. 
  • Maintain a hygienic kitchen and high standards of personal hygiene.
  • Attend all briefings.

Bell Attendant – Concierge – InterContinental® Hotel Dubai Festival City

A little taste of your day-to-day:

  • Assist arriving and departing guests by opening and closing car and taxi doors
  • Welcome guests at the main entrance, offering the greeting appropriate to the time of day taking particular note of repeat guests and Priority Club members
  • Guide the guest to the Front Desk and adhere to guest check-in and check-out procedures prepare baggage handling and escort the guests accordingly
  • Provide guest services and guidance, information about the hotel facilities and services
  • Assist with heavy packages, coats, suitcase
  • Keep the lobby clean and tidy, informing the Concierge or Bell Captain if it needs major cleaning
  • Keep the baggage room clean and in order before going off duty on each shift

What we need from you:

  • Communication skills – guests and colleagues will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments
  • Fluency in the English language – extra language skills would be great, but not essential
  • Your Time management skills will be important to know how to prioritize tasks under pressure.
  • Your outgoing personality is important in order to help our guests, and create memorable moments
  • Flexibility – night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job
  • Experience – ideally, you’ll have spent at least one year in a similar position
  • You’ll have a high school diploma or qualification. A college or university degree would be a bonus, but not essential
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • REPs certification
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Previous experience in personal training or a related fitness field.
  • Strong knowledge of exercise physiology, nutrition, and fitness program design.
