A Retail Manager is required to join a retail operator onboard cruise lines.

Applicants must have previous experience managing the daily operation of retail departments by achieving and exceeding revenue and customer service targets on board. Goal oriented and results driven.

Previous experience working onboard cruise ships is desired.

Competitive salary paid in US Dollars. Contract length of 6 months. Single cabin.

The chosen candidates will be responsible of: 

  • Positively motivate sales team to achieve and exceed sales and customer service targets 
  • Provide training and coaching to all levels of sales team 
  • Lead sales team in achieving and exceeding sales and service targets 
  • Successfully implement all sales and promotional events 
  • Ensure sales team has a high level of product knowledge

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Pastry Chef to implement, maintain and review all approved menus onboard
  • Prepare all desserts, cakes and pastries for the restaurant menus
  • Assist with buffet set up
  • Instruct crew in the preparation of pastries, cakes and crèmes
  • Monitor and ensure opening and closing procedures for all kitchens and production areas
  • Oversee allergy and dietary training of Pastry staff and ensure training is in accordance with strict company LOG’s and guidelines
  • Oversee proper preparation of special dietary meals and food allergy for guests and crew
  • Delegate, monitor and review the Chefs operational responsibilities

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years recent experience as Pastry Chef or Pastry Chef de Partie
  • Certified Pastry Chef or equivalent degree in Culinary Arts
  • Excellent technical and functional understanding of the ship based Food & Beverage operation
  • Proven track record of delivering a high quality product
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Be able to speak, read and write fluent English
  • Willingness to live and work onboard one of our vessels for a certain length of time (based on position)
  • Be able to work a seven-day, 70-84 hour week with limited time off

Island Beach Lifeguard – Bahamas

Responsibilities:

  • Provide aquatic rescue and recreation assistance on Castaway Cay
  • Responsible for life guarding of family lagoon on Castaway Cay at multiple stations (300 feet between stands), water slides and play structures surrounded by water
  • Oversee boat beach lagoon to ensure safe usage of rental boats; assist boaters in distress as needed
  • Assist with upkeep and cleanliness of rental equipment (bikes, snorkel equipment, boats) and island Recreational areas and supplies or equipment (beaches, snorkel lagoon) on non-call days
  • Rental of recreational equipment including bikes, float mats, tubes, snorkel equipment, and boats
  • Provide instruction to Guests in the operation of rental boats and the use of snorkel equipment
  • Part of ship tie-up Crew
  • Responsible for beach set-up and breakdown including general beach clean up, organization, set up and collection of all rental equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness of island beach facilities, placement and cleaning of beach chairs, clean beach with sand sifter, clear seaweed, rake beaches, pick trash, maintain umbrellas on beaches, etc.
  • Assist with general maintenance, cleanliness, sanitation, and operational readiness of rental equipment including bikes, boats, karts , strollers, and snorkel equipment; Report defects for repair

Basic Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in The Bahamas
  • Minimum six months of recent lifeguarding experience
  • Ability to pass a pre-hire swim test and successfully complete lifeguard certification training, as well as Aquatic Rescue Professional certification (conducted upon arrival on island), including swimming 200 yards with the first 100 yards in one minute and 50 seconds or less; tread water for two minutes without the use of hands, retrieve a ten-pound brick from eight feet of water, certification requirements must also be maintained throughout contract.
  • Ability to detect and respond to noises and distress signals in an aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the zone of responsibility.
  • Must be able to observe all sections of an assigned zone or area of responsibility.
  • Ability to pass a vision screening with at least 20/25 vision, corrected or uncorrected. •High level of fitness including strong swimming abilities
  • Good computer skills and operational knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent competitive swim team and/or work-related water sports experience (paddle boarding, surfing, rescue/open-water diving, snorkeling, free diving, water polo, underwater hockey, etc.)
  • Previous experience with boats, snorkel equipment, or other recreational equipment
  • Open water diver and diving rescue certification

Your Responsibilities – How You Will Make a Difference

  • You will complete proper menu preparation for all allergy and special dietary needs; ensure training and preparation follow strict company guidelines.
  • Exceed Disney Cruise Line and Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP) requirements; prepare and lead the culinary team through multiple internal inspections conducted weekly.
  • Implement company recipe guidelines through recipe booklets, plate presentation and audits.
  • Provide feedback on recipe formulation to the Chef de Cuisine and Manager Food Operations.

HOTEL MANAGEMENT

HOTEL CONTROLLER – EXPLORA JOURNEYS

JOB PURPOSE

An exciting opportunity exists for a world class F&B Controller to join our newly created luxury travel brand “Explora Journeys”. The F&B Controller supports the Provision Master  to prepare the preloading reports, the loading lists by store, supervise the loading operations, execute the receiving in MMS, manage all the discrepancy reports, verify the daily movements as per S.O.P., spot check random items during the cruise period, assist the team in the final main store inventory, insert accordingly data in MMS and generate financial reports.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Responsible for the reliability of all the data, reports and financial statistics prepared onboard. 

• Co-responsible for the receiving of items on dockside and the safe storage and rotation in the food storage areas. 

• Help the F&B store team to perform their checks after the loading day and spot checks must be carried out on the discrepancies between ordered and loaded quantities (potential shortages). 

• Co-responsible to  record the movement of all items into and out from for the Ship’s storerooms and to manage the safe and controlled discharge of material to all departments authorized to make F&B withdrawals. 

• Main job of F&B Controller will be to execute proper statistics and reports with regards to F&B costs and other onboard and shore files given by Shoreside offices, analyze variances (target vs actual) and report. 

• The F&B Controller must perform daily checks on ship orders in order to avoid any potential shortages. 

• Give constant feedback on the material storage in order to avoid any breakage and spoilage. 

• Keep updated the inventory with expiration date for each item. 

• Weekly checks on the fluctuations of items cost prices must be carried out promptly submitting findings to Shipboard management. 

• Item quality evaluation report must be done on timely basis. 

• Load all the documents in MMS according with physical quantities received within time frame specified in Loading procedure. 

• Takes part in a work environment that support a successful safety culture.

• Reports any non-conformity or malfunctioning in the Storerooms (cells, fans, sprinkler, alarms, etc.) and monitors if the procedures of Safety Material Management, Health and Sanitation Management and Environmental Management are respected by the personnel of the stores. 

• Keep under control the Par Stock vs. Target assigned by monitoring the various RDA in according with the Media in the System.

• Proven in compliance with Explora Journeys Standard Procedures, Sanitation Standards and major international sanitation regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)

• A minimum of 4-years experience in the position or similar with diverse luxury Hospitality and/ or luxury Cruise lines;

• Fluent in oral and written English (working & Safety language of the Company). Any additional language is a plus.

• High School diploma.

• A background of safe food handling and storage in a similar position in a sanitation-regulated environment.

JOB PURPOSE

An exciting opportunity exists for a world class Night Auditor to join our newly created luxury travel brand “Explora Journeys”.  The Night Auditor welcomes guests with a warm and friendly disposition, answers their questions, handles their feedback, promptly attends to their requests in a professional and timely manner.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Conducts the financial audit, reconciliation and end of day procedures. Verifies that all the accounting entries are managed in compliance with Company Standards and Procedures. This includes charges, voids, discounts, company accounts, onboard credits, taxes.

• Cash handling duties as required.

• Monitors guest payment methods and handles payment card authorizations. Follows-up on any outstanding guest.

• Provides information and general assistance to guests during the night shift, reporting to Guest Services Manager for all guest services matters. This includes both in-person guest interaction and via phone.

• Performs all necessary administrative tasks to assist finance and guest services department.

QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)

• High School certificate.

• Guest Services experience.

• Cruise industry experience is an advantage.
